Frédéric Gervais is an Associate Professor in computer science at Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC) and a member of the LACL research laboratory since 2007. Lately, he has been the Head of the Department of Computer Science, at IUT Sénart Fontainebleau, from November 2018 to July 2022. Previously, he has been President ad interim of UPEC from November 2017 to February 2018, Vice President of the Administrative Board of UPEC from January 2017 to February 2018, and Associate Vice President for Finance and Human Resources of UPEC from April 2016 to January 2017. He has already been the Head of the Department of Computer Science from September 2010 to August 2013. He has created the new Department Multimedia and Internet Jobs, at IUT Sénart Fontainebleau, as Head of project from January 2019 to August 2020. Frédéric Gervais earned a Ph.D. in computer science from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in France and from the Université de Sherbrooke (Québec) in Canada in 2006. His main research interests are in the field of information systems and formal methods. Special interests are coupling and refinement of formal languages for the analysis and design of information systems. Frédéric Gervais has co-supervised five Ph.D. students. He has been involved in the following research projects: EB3sec (NSERC strategic project, 2008-2011), SELKIS (ANR ARPEGE project, 2009-2012), FORMOSE (ANR SIC project, 2014-2019), and EBRP (ANR CE25 project, 2020-2024). He was member of the INFORSID 2008, ABZ 2010, CMC12 and CSL 2012 organization committees. In 2010, he has organized the WS-TBFM workshop at Orford (Québec), in Canada. Since 2007, Frederic Gervais teaches at the Department of Computer Science, at IUT Sénart Fontainebleau. His main courses are: computer organization and design, user-machine interfaces, UML modelling and formal methods.
