As a materials engineer, I gained experience over the past ten years in the development and production departments of Philips in Turnhout. The Turnhout plant is the knowledge centre of Philips Lighting for high pressure discharge lamps and components. The DPL burner department makes burners for UHP lamps. The burner is the core of the lamp (the part where light is produced). The UHP lamps are used for data and video projection.
