Frederick J. Abbate8 Wyandanch Blvd.Smithtown NY. 11787646 584 2282 • wlffja@gmail.comF I have more than 38 years of experience in the construction industry encompassing the management of the construction and rehabilitation of residential, educational, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing facilities. The most recent project I was head of the largest school built on the East Coast in decades; the Mott Haven Campus in the Bronx. The school had a footprint of 110,000 square feet, and a construction value of over 200,000 million dollars. Previous to that project I worked on the Freedom Tower at Ground Zero, as an Executive Project Manager for STV. I also ran a General Construction division for Whitestone Construction where my responsibilities spanned every phase of construction: from estimating, to value engineering, to job inspections, and supervising six other Project Managers. My construction career started as a laborer, the lowest possible starting point. With very hard work I jumped from laborer to supervisor, then into project management. In this timeframe I took college courses in project management. I also oversaw and directed teams of project managers, superintendents, field inspectors, and foremen. I coordinated with owners, architects, and construction managers, and I have been responsible for bidding, contract review and preparation, finalization of the scope of work, project estimation and review, preparation of time schedules and cost summaries, change order analysis and approval, and closeouts. I am also familiar with the protocols and procedures specific to New York City agencies, having completed numerous projects for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and the New York City School Construction Authority (NYCSCA).
