I supported suppression efforts of invasive Northern Pike on Lake Spokane and Lake Roosevelt through the use of gill net surveys. Additionally, I conducted spawning ground surveys for native Redband Trout, dietary survey of Smallmouth Bass, and a population abundance survey of Smallmouth Bass on the Spokane River. We performed the Smallmouth Bass surveys using a drift boat at night.

Assisting with Redband trout monitoring via mark-recapture studies on tributaries to the Columbia River and Pike suppression on Lake Roosevelt are the main projects I am working on.

Graduate Teaching assistant at Grand Valley State University while completing my Master of Biology with a focus in Aquatic Sciences. I taught lab sections for Introductory Biology for non majors (Bio 104). My thesis research studied Brook and Brown trout diets on a seasonal basis for 12 months. We compared trout stomach samples against collected macroinvertebrate communities to determine which species were being selected for or against during feeding.

I will be conducting research on the Entiat River system monitoring Salmon and Steelhead runs on the Entiat River. I ran day to day operations on our rotary screw trap, maintained our trapping site and made all repairs to the trap. In addition, I completed efficiency trials, data entry and management and maintained PIT tag interrogation sites throughout the watershed.

I will be conducting field research in the Ottawa National Forest on various sreams, rivers, and lakes. It will also include backpack electrofishing, fish surveys, and habitat surveys.

La Crosse, Wisconsin Area

I work in the Good Greens Aquaponics Building raising tilapia and growing various leafy greens, vegetables, herbs, and fruits. We raise tilapia from small fry to roughly 1.5 lbs. I also test our water system for pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and Dissolved oxygen levels. We test pH daily and nitrite, nitrate, ammonia, and dissolved oxygen weekly.

-Project leader: Age, growth, body condition, armament morphology, and spawning phenology of the Brook Stickleback (Culaea inconstans) in Wisconsin, a 65 year perspective.- Collected length, weight, and body armament for all UWSP holdings (1000’s of individuals).- Collected Blackspot parasite numbers on each Brooks Stickleback.- Mapped trends in body armament used statistical models to determine patterns of age and growth over time and space in Wisconsin Stickleback populations.
