Project manager for the complete refurbishment of a batch house for a float glass plant. This included site inspection, management and coordination of (2) mechanical designers, project estimation, batch house timing studies, project proposals and leading of meetings with clients and vendors to meet mutually benefitial batch house design goals, establish project budgets and schedules. Coordinated with purchasing department and vendors to received approriate equipment orders on schedule. I designed batching systems and components for the glass container industry. Conducted annual inspection of (5) North American batch houses for dust exposure, organized inspection reports and recommended corrective actions. I developed CAD standards for use by all batch designers at O-I. Developed standard drawing packages to reduce layout time for charging systems. Involved with all phases of project design and installation for batch houses. I supervised the installation of several batch house improvement projects and two cullet reclaimation projects. I provided services for O-I plants in North and South America.I also worked in the R&D department developing components for bottle inspection machines utilizing 2D and 3D CAD software. I simplified some parts to accomodate a wider range of containers, reducing the number of custom parts required.Selected Accomplishments• Project Engineer for the complete refurbishment of a $6 mil. batch house.• Organized and facilitated the creation on department CAD standards to increase consistency and productivity by 15%• Reduced quantity of custom components required for bottle handling at inspection machines by 60 %.• Significantly reduced time to research project information by creating a database for existing drawings.• Reduced exposure to silica up to 90% at 5 glass plants through regular inspections, reporting of issues and suggested repair of existing equipment. • Reduced the time required to generate detailed layouts of charging system projects 400%, by identifying equipment used in a range of glass furnace capacities and creating standard layouts and simplified blocks of equipment.• Improved various machine components which improved part longevity, reducing costs.• Improved batch house production up to 23% through timing studies.

Designed process piping for food industry, petrol-chemical and powdercoating systems. Developed more efficient machines for a fiberglass manufacturing line.

Designed industrial machining coolant filtration equipment. Similar to drag chain conveyors but equipped with filter beds or media filtration drums.
