Director of the Wakefield Public School District's extended day programming. This includes: before and after school programs, enrichment, vacation programs, professional development day programs, academic/ mcas enhancement programs and summer camp programs. Responsible for directing and overseeing the Wakefield Public School District extended day programming for the (6) Wakefield Public Schools: (4) Elementary Schools- Dolbeare, Greenwood, Walton and Woodville; Galvin Middle School and Wakefield High School.

Grant Writing:-Plan, research, write, present, implement and report progress with educational enrichment grants annually to the Dover Sherborn Education Fund (6 years approximately $200,000 awarded).-Plan, research, write, present, implement and report progress with educational enrichment grants annually to the Dover Sherborn Middle School POSITIVE parent organization (6 years approximately $90,000 awarded).-Administration and oversight for the planning, researching, data analysis and delivery of the middle school’s Title I Instructional Grant.Instructional Design:-Provide leadership for the development and implementation of staff in-service programs.-Provide leadership for the planning, development and implementation of the middle school’s internship and student teaching programs.-Provide leadership for the planning, writing, editing, development and implementation of the middle school’s curriculum in accordance with State and Federal Frameworks and best instructional and assessment practices.-Supervise and evaluate teacher and staff members in accordance with state guidelines and collective bargaining agreements.Administration and Management-Plan, direct and supervise the entire middle school program ensuring the school district achieves its mission, goals and objectives.-Serve on school and district level committees to research, communicate and plan initiatives.-Write and present monthly school committee update reports. -Model and support an educational climate that fosters learning as a life-long process.-Create systems and storage for documenting, tracking and analyzing data.-Conflict resolution and mediation for students, parents, teachers and staff. -Generate all such state and federal reporting data as scheduled or needed.-Provide leadership in the recruitment of staff and execute a system of personnel selection and assignment.-Provide leadership for the planning, development and implementation of the middle school’s budget.

Instructional Design:-Provide leadership for and share responsibility for the development and implementation of staff in-service programs.-Provide leadership for the planning, development and implementation of the middle school’s internship and student teaching programs.-Provide leadership for the planning, writing, editing, development and implementation of the middle school’s curriculum in accordance with State and Federal Frameworks and best instructional and assessment practices.-Supervise and evaluate teacher and staff members in accordance with state guidelines and respective collective bargaining agreements.Administration and Management:-Develop, organize and record the middle school master schedule.-Write and manage school 504 Educational Planning in accordance with Federal Law and District Procedures.-Coordinates efforts with the Principal, teacher leaders, teachers, guidance counselors, parents, and other school community staff to effect improvement of inappropriate student behavior.-Provides centralized supervision and control of student disciplinary matters and student attendance.-Supervises, on a shared basis with other staff, student behavior at after-school activities of the school.-Mediates student-staff-parent conflicts.-Advises staff members of effective student management techniques.-In conjunction with guidance staff, alerts staff members to unusual family or personal circumstances that may affect student behavior or performance.-Assists in the orientation of new staff members.-Provides direction and supervision of homeroom period operations, maintains student locator file and supervises student message center operations.

While working as a 6th grade Social Studies Teacher at Hale Middle School in Stow, Massachusetts, I was identified to apply for an administrative training scholarship. I was awarded this scholarship and spent seven weeks shadowing my building principal in addition to receiving course work and training from Irwin Blumer and Tom Scott.
