I have developed and continue to develop a number of system level designs for PAN, LAN, NAN and WAN. These designs integrate various physical layers with novel MAC layers and standard based network and transport layers. Examples of systems include recent work in wireless sensor network systems, enterprise Wi-Fi systems, and high-speed wireless Internet access systems. Earlier work included the first commercial high-speed cable modem system, cell switching networks that then became early versions of ATM systems, and Ethernet bridging systems.Specialties: System level design that requires the novel use of emerging technologies to meet performance goals in a system that is easy to deploy and manage. My expertise is to manage and contribute to the development process from the early brainstorming stage through development, testing, manufacturing and deployment stages. In addition to the expertise in network and product development, I have proven skills in intellectual property development and in standards work.

Vice President And Chief Technical OfficerHybrid Networks Sep 1994 - Mar 2002Hybrid Networks was a broadband wireless and cable modem system manufacturer. As an officer of the company, I formed a staff that developed, simulated, and documented the two-way wireless and cable product that Hybrid shipped. We developed a wireless architecture, media access protocols, grade-of-service algorithms, methods for supporting voice on the system, protocols for optimizing data throughput in asymmetric systems, high throughput modem designs, and numerous IP networking features. I was in charge of the company's patents. Based on this work, I devised a licensing program, successfully which included devloping and licencing IP. at various times I ran the hardware development group and directed new software development. During this time, we developed a new modem and base station system. On the software side I architected the network management solution and channel resource/QOS algorithms and worked with the software engineers to implement them.
