Implemented scripts to create schemas to clean and parse data extracts from internal and third party vendors and store data into Hadoop and Hive databases and tables. Independently developed an extensive application to translate policies from a legacy system to Travelers’ current rating production environment saving the company ~$1.8M in vendor support expenses. Developed and tested a new ETL tool (over a weekend) used to translate data from existing policies into XML documents for conversion to 3rd-party systems and, ultimately, saved the company $120K in vendor costs. Performed application and report upgrades for the Travelers MI custom applications team to support the transition to current versions of SQL Server and application servers and, ultimately, improve execution speeds by ~54%.
