The Illinois Interior Design Coalition is a legislative advocate dedicated to promoting, protecting and enhancing the interior design profession in the state of Illinois. This not-for-profit political action committee promotes establishing and maintaining a responsible level of interior design practice standards for those individuals that want to identify themselves as interior designers. The primary reason to distinguish the qualifications of the professional interior designer through legislation is to institute a level of protection for the consumer because of the health, safety, and public welfare issues that exist when interior environments are created. IIDC also exists to create a favorable business environment for the interior design profession.
