About Frederick Prozzillo
Fred was born and raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, north of Philadelphia. In 1990 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with minors in Political Science and English from La Salle University. His interest in history, art, and architecture led him to Taliesin West where in 2000 he received a Master of Architecture degree from Taliesin, the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. While at Taliesin he was elected Apprentice Representative by his peers and co-founded the Apprentice Lecture Series and the Apprentice Shelter Program. In the fall of 1999, he was invited to intern with renowned preservation architects Sandy, Kentro, & Associates and worked at the Temples of Angkor Wat, Cambodia and the historic ghats of Kathmandu, Nepal. Following graduation Fred continued to support Taliesin as a visiting instructor, and in 2007 he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Taliesin Fellows, the school’s alumni association. His architectural work focused on hospitality, spa, and mixed-use projects. As a project manager with Allen+Philp Architects he worked on the award-winning rehabilitation of the historic Hotel Valley Ho and Trader Vic’s Restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona. In February 2012, Fred returned to Taliesin West as Director of Preservation. In his role he assisted with the nomination of 8 Wright sites to become the 2019 US nomination to the UNESCO World Heritage Council. With the success of the nomination Fred now serves as the Taliesin West site representative to the Frank Lloyd Wright World Heritage Council. In 2017 Fred was made the Nord McClintock Family Vice President of Preservation and Collections for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and charged with overseeing the preservation of the National Historic Landmark and World Heritage sites Taliesin and Taliesin West, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Collections. Fred lectures on Wright and the two Taliesin’s across the US.
