About Frederico Roeber
(EN)Frederico Roeber "Fred" (1985) is a Portuguese architect based in Oporto and co-founder of the hori-zonte office.His architectural practice ranges from building and apartment renovations, urban design and Masterplans, and restaurant and retail design. His projects are characterized by personal proximity to the project, always being closely followed up, from the very beginning of the conceptual design, throughout the construction phase, to its interior design and furniture selection.The proximity to each project follows a rational organization of space and assures a balance between functionality, texture, light, and warmth to create a harmonious and comfortable atmosphere. Our philosophy is that each project has its unique features and so the final solutions have to adapt to those living in the designed area.Fred has an ongoing interest in attending multidisciplinary executive education programs as a process of professional enrichment in areas such as Sustainability, Business, Finance, Marketing. He feels that solid knowledge is the key when facing new challenges.Besides his work practice as an architect, Fred was involved in other businesses, in very broad areas such as the hospitality and retail industries. This parallel path has provided him with a very adequate idea of how businesses flow and their practical requirements when designing new areas. He graduated with Honours from his Master’s degree in Architecture in 2010, and since then, he has been developing projects as a freelancer and co-author and has collaborated with several design studios in Portugal and Austria.
