Qa Engineer
Software engineer for GraphNOS, the VPP-based software router developed by Graphiant. With a team of 4, I wrote from the ground up a Python testing framework, to automate provisioning of virtual machine (KVM) instances of GraphNOS, and run a large selection of feature tests. I focused on routing (OSPFv3 for MPLS SR, BGP with proprietary extensions), NAT-PT, stateful firewall (TCP inspection, ICMP and UDP rate-limit), IPFIX, forwarding policy. Network automation was done using Python, gNMI, YANG-modelled JSON configuration. I contributed code to GraphNOS itself, in C and in Rust. I’ve improved the GitLab-based CD build pipeline with automated testing, which has ensured frequent coverage of many features and avoided regressions. That focus on feature testing allowed Graphiant to validate its network architecture and to present proof-of-concept demonstrations to customers less than a year after starting development. Automating tests at the same time as development work happens enabled the engineering team to deliver new features fast, while avoiding regressions. In this role, I have been praised for my attention to details, and my keenness to triage, investigate and root-cause issues. I am able to work in autonomy, fast to learn new technologies, and I have a strong work ethic. I work well in a diverse and globally distributed team spread across timezones.
Senior Qa Specialist
Senior Software QA engineer for Vyatta, the software router powering more and more of the AT&T network, from 5G edge to MPLS forwarding. Since the Vyatta acquisition by AT&T, I've continued to help improve its quality and dependability across a number of areas, including IPv6 routing; hosting of VNF guests including Cisco CSR1000v and Juniper vSRX; a from-scratch CGNAT implementation; port of forwarding features from software to various silicon chips; and more. I am the main Vyatta tester for FlexWare devices. I ensures the reliability of our testing by maintaining our Python automated installation tool, used by the QA team; implementing Atlassian code-quality tooling; deploying continuous integration solutions based on Jenkins. The DANOS project releases much of the Vyatta software as open-source under the Linux Foundation umbrella, check out danosproject.org!
Qa Specialist
Software Qa Engineer
Software QA engineer for Vyatta, a software router running on standard whitebox hardware or even as a virtual machine to offer flexibility, lower cost without sacrificing performance. Some areas of testing: a new IPv6 ND implementation, virtio interface drivers, and a new VRF implementation. My responsibilities included:- organising and communicating the testing effort by authoring test plans,- conformance testing against RFC standards,- automating most of the testing effort in Python to enable continuous regression testing, and thus ensuring the quality of the code in the future,- security testing using the THC IPv6 toolkit in order to find weaknesses and scale issues.
Software Engineer
Worked on testing for CEF (Cisco Express Forwarding, IPv4 and IPv6) and MFI (the MPLS forwarding infrastructure), on IOS classic and IOS-XE.I wrote new scripts, either reproducing real-world issues found in customer networks, or testing of new features. Skills required: MPLS and IP knowledge, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), understanding of how Cisco features are deployed in customer networks. Programming language was TCL.I investigated failures uncovered during automated testing. Skills required: advanced Cisco IOS troubleshooting, understanding a network topology, investigating interactions between e.g. routing protocols, being able to describe the relevant configuration details to a development engineer.I supported the remote teams for their re-use of our testing script in their own regression testing.Installed hardware in our test lab (6500, 7600, ASR, 3900, 3750).Installed of a dashboard aimed at testers and developers in order to track known failures and highlight new issues.
Network Engineer
Two projects, the largest being test acceptance and monitoring for the roll-out of the Schengen+ project from Jan -- Apr 2012.The goal of the project was to migrate the WAN connections between the police sites in each (25+) member state and the central site, from the previous provider to the OBS network. From the central site, I monitored the installation of the networking equipment; helped test the redundancy and manageability of the WAN connection following an agreed test plan; and assisted in the actual migration. I was also involved in the diagnostic and correction of issues uncovered during the testing phase.Technical environment : Cisco equipment (2960, 3750), Juniper firewall, HP NNMi, Thales DCAP.
Consultant
Test Engineer
Tester of back-office applications, supporting Business Intelligence needs.I defined test protocols from product requirement, automated testing with Perl, installed development artefacts (Oracle SQL procedures under Solaris, HP-UX), assessed the release quality before roll-out to production.
Engineering Internship
I automated the deployment of HLR software on VMware. I designed and implemented a method for automatic installation of virtual machines (RedHat and Windows) on ESX servers. I handled the daily administration of the virtual infrastructure, installed new servers. I used Microsoft PowerShell, Perl, Python, XML & XSLT.
