I am an engineer currently working at Arup. My primary responsibilities include data engineering, BI, automation and smaller software development projects.I hold a master’s degree in architectural engineering, where I delved into the world of buildings and structures, but I always sought out opportunities to explore my fascination with IT and coding. This blend of disciplines has shaped my career path, steering me towards data engineering and analytics which I have realized are my primary interests.In my current role I've gravitated towards tasks that involve data, coding, and visualizations, despite the initial focus on infrastructure projects. This shift was driven by my realization that working with data is where my passion lies. I've taken the initiative to lead data engineering efforts on projects, managing the process from data collection to the creation of detailed PowerBI reports. My experience includes using tools like PostgreSQL, Python, Apache Airflow, Mage and Docker, through which I've developed a solid foundation in data handling and pipelines. I also have experience in minor software development projects primarily using Python and git, for example automation of complex engineering calculations or speeding up analyses.
