I am Assistant Professor in SCM at Portland State University (PSU), Portland, Oregon, USA. In my research, I look from a buyer's perspective in the public, healthcare and industrial sectors on buyer-supplier relationships and the supply chain. I wonder, how can buyers get more out of the supply chain? How can we collaborate better? How do Industry 4.0, increased risks, sustainability and other issues influence the way we collaborate in different supply chains and how do buying organizations (e.g., municipalities, hospitals, firms) manage their supply chains accordingly? Next to my main work at PSU, I am Executive Committee member of the "International Purchasing, Supply Education & Research Association" (IPSERA), Associate Editor of the "Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management" (JPSM), Treasurer of the UTIPS Foundation and co-founder/head of development of the serious game company suPlay.Beforehand, I worked as Assistant Professor in Public, Health & Industrial Procurement at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. I am holding a PhD in Supply Management and three Master of Science degrees (Business Administration, Psychology and Communication Science). I also worked several years in practice as public procurement consultant at PPRC in the Netherlands and in the global purchasing department of the Volkswagen AG in Germany.
