    Originating in February 2001, GLOBECOT was a startup consulting and communications firm serving the global fiber and textile industries. FCStone, LLC bought GLOBECOT in 2008. International Assets Holding Company bought FCStone in 2009 (creating INTL FCStone Inc.).Managed international sales, the marketing of GLOBECOT News Network, economic research studies, and handled relations with the company’s largest client, Bayer Crop Science. As the global marketing arm for a Bayer cottonseed, FiberMax, our team focused marketing efforts for the seed in India, Pakistan, South Korea and China. By strategically branding FiberMax and aggressively promoting it at the mill level, the US cotton crop grew rapidly from 3% to over 35%. Instrumental in the development and implementation of the company’s most successful promotional program: the FiberMax Cotton Summit. The two-day summits were held internationally and targeted at top textile mill executives in the 12 major textile-producing countries. Significantly reduced Bayer’s overhead costs by negotiating co-sponsorships with various domestic and international members of the textile supply chain. Overtime, I added a networking component (3-4 dinner meetings annually) that connected mill owners in key markets and improved industry relations.
