  • Campaign For College Opportunity
    Director Of Public Affairs
Campaign For College Opportunity Dec 2017 - Jul 2018
    Greater Los Angeles Area
The Campaign for College Opportunity was established in 2003 by an alliance of prominent organizations including the California Business Roundtable, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and the Community College League of California. The Campaign was founded with the recognition that the state's future was increasingly dependent on two intertwined factors: the growth rate and ethnic diversity of its population and the state's investments and policy strategies for its public higher education systems. Its mission is to ensure all Californians have an equal opportunity to attend and succeed in college in order to build a vibrant workforce, economy, and democracy. As the Director of Public Affairs, I helped build a statewide bipartisan higher education coalition, identifying high visibility opportunities for raising higher education priorities with candidates for state office, and supporting strategic mobilization techniques and communications. I helped shape the Campaign's overall political outreach strategy and led the implementation of its coalition-led efforts with policymakers to further our mission and goals. I also spearheaded the work of the California Undocumented Higher Education Coalition.
