Designed consumer product circuitry for mass production. Developed high-tech, wireless, low-powered sensing devices used for home and industrial security and for home automation applications. Was expert in the layout of wireless transmitter circuitry for sensing products. Invented new and original product ideas and developed IntellectualProperty for Honeywell, including multiple patent applications (six patents granted at this time). Expert in the design of low-power, high-gain sensor circuitry. These were used for economical production of large-scale commercial products in that they reduced the component count of the products. Proficient in highly accurate and precise temperature sensing instrumentation, and developed a wireless heat detector (Honeywell 5821). Invented, designed and developed a wireless frost, heat, freezer, refrigerator and flood sensor. This item replaced a single function device at a savings of 40% of the previous manufacturing cost. Was responsible for the specification and acquisition of five ASICs both in the capacity of authoring the specification and working with the ASIC designers.During spare times proposed over fifty inventions. Some of these inventions were judged worthy of Honeywell investing over a half a million dollars for international patents for each selected invention.Acted as a consultant to the head of the thermostat division at Honeywell as well as to project engineers in Moscow, Prague, Scotland, England, South America and Europe.

Employed as a temporary consultant. Participated on the ATARS camera system. Performed Built In Test (BIT) analysis, troubleshooting and critical review of existing digital/analog designs. Identified design deficiencies through statistical data-analysis modeling techniques. Wrote specification for a 256 mega-pixel reconnaissance camera system. Reverse-engineered and created block diagrams for a complex video system. Participated in a proposal team (TARS camera system) for an electro-optical sensor system. The results of the proposal were that the company was awarded the contract.

Ran the NY division of large test equipment company based in Germany. Wrote English language catalogs and data sheet text. Produced promotional material and performed domestic customer contact. Generated magazine articles and handled press contact.Developed printer interface for 1GHz spectrum analyzer. Analyzed product failure modes for design improvement. Reported directly to the owner of the company in Germany.

Designed Digital Signal Processing (DSP) circuitry for sonar acoustic intercept (AN/WLR-9, AL/WLR-12, BQQ5, BQQ6). This electronics processed sonar signals and differentiated between enemy submarines and marine crustaceans and mammals. Designed memory storage, A/D hardware, multiplexer and display electronics. Worked with vendors for video monitor selection and later performed failure analysis on monitor failure. Isolated basic design error as the root cause of failures. Wrote PASCAL code for spectrum data display. Developed STANAG 4156 (NATO) serial data interface hardware for the AN/BSY-1 anti-submarine warfare system.Designed digital data trap used to capture acoustic signals from audio tape. Was responsible for locating obsolete components as well as new components such as hybrids and ASICs.Located a large block diagram of an electronics system for the SH-60B helicopter. This diagram allowed me to participate in the design the electronics for a proposal that resulted in the company being awarded an 80 million dollar contract for acoustic processing electronics.

Lead circuit design engineer for the Advanced Systems IR&D group, developing fast turn around circuit/system designs, proposals and new business activities. Was responsible for the development of a new-generation digital stereo entertainment system used in commercial airliners. Designed communication control electronics and displays. Performed analog and digital circuit/system designs for proposals and developed the hardware upon contract award. As a result of writing a winning proposal, the company received a contract from IBM valued at well over $50M. Designed and developed a MIL-STD-1553 data interface, which was the first contractor developed 1553 interface certified by IBM to be compliant to their interface, both software and hardware.

Was in charge of all electronics development at a photo-transistor factory. Prepared specifications, prototypes designs, new business documents, product concepts and supervised technicians, software engineers and consultants.Developed custom circuitry for optoelectronic devices. Prepared proposals that utilized optoelectronics to solve manufacture and product design requests.Designed and fabricated custom photo-transistor sorting and test equipment. This semi-automated equipment tripled the throughput rate of test and increased the accuracy tremendously of the sorted product. It also reduced the skill level required for the test operation and was less stressful for the test operator than the use of multiple instruments for a comprehensive product test. In addition, the additional number of bins led to tighter component performance matching.Supervised staff in building an automatic gasket sorting machine and a motor speed control based on optical sensing. Generated proposals for new business and developed numerous electro-optical devices as well as a wide range of semiconductor automatic test equipment.

Developed digital circuitry for the S-3A ASW aircraft's sonobouy release system. Suggested a design improvement from the original product specification that resulted in easier software for the client and minimization of the electronics for the product.Created a simulation and analysis of a complex array of power supplies that estimated turn on and turn off delays that led to system re-design that permitted sub-system re-boot in the event of power interruptions that could result in logic conditions that would release nuclear weapons without the proper launch conditions.

Designed the Buffer Control Unit (BCU) for the Versatile Avionics System Test (VAST). Selected a line of digital logic that was used in all designs done by the company. Worked on a sub-nanosecond pulse generator and developed a high speed decade divider (scaler) module used in a frequency synthesizer.Identified a set of low noise digital transceivers and created a test fixture to evaluate multiple products for their signal to noise ratio.

Developed special purpose test equipment for the LEM PRA used on the Apollo module. Screened high-density electronic modules at manufacturer's facility prior to embedding. Designed and perfected special test equipment for the EA-6B Analog/Digital/Synchro converter.Participated in preparation of multiple proposals for classified reconnaissance projects.Was privileged to work as an apprentice to half a dozen engineers who were specialists in logic design, opto-electronics, digital power supplies, test engineering, solid state electronics, analog design, digital motor control electronics and program management.

Started out as a junior draftsman. The company president requested that I look at a product and try to find out what the problem with it was. I took the product apart, re-assembled, leaving out many parts and the product no longer malfunctioned once assembled without the extraneous parts. This ended my career as a junior draftsman. After that analyzed products and re-designed them to use electronics instead of expensive, manufactured, mechanical parts for a cost savings. Although it was originally a summer job I continued working as a consultant in the area of new product development while I was attending engineering school.

I developed an electromechanical interlock system for a nuclear food irradiation cell located in Natick, MA. Wrote a proposal for a chemical warfare plant to be located at Pine Bluff Arsenal in Arkansas. Created template drawings for nuclear and fossil fuel plants.
