As of 2004, Wildlife Trust supported 65 conservation projects in 20 countries with an annual operating budget of $4.6 million. Founded in 1971, Wildlife Trust worked only in developing, tropical countries until 2001, when they expanded to include wildlife ecology and ecohealth projects in New York and Florida. Responsibilities: Reporting to the President/CEO, assisted with organization management and strategic planning, especially for the conservation program; managed and developed international and/or national project portfolio, including: project leader selection; professional development of WT team (about 40 persons); supervision and leadership of core program staff (five persons) and other employees (about 20 persons); organization and control of annual program budget of about $2.5 million. Also, assisted CEO, Director of Development, and Foundations Manager to plan and to implement fundraising strategy; assisted CEO and Finance Director with development and management of annual budget; represented Wildlife Trust to media, at public relations events, and scientific meetings; and visited field sites to evaluate success and mentor junior field biologists; provided recommendations and background material for Board Conservation, Development, and Executive committees; conducted scientific research in the New York metropolitan region; participated in academic activities at Columbia University; and acted as President/CEO in her absence.
