Profile bio

About Fred Koschara

I "suffer" from insatiable curiosity and unbridled creativity. When I get to the other side of the hiring equation, this *will* lead to exponential growth. My employment background, while primarily centered on [computer] software and hardware development, is highly diversified and delves into many other fields. My CAREER objective is to build a for-profit, privately funded space program, move off-planet and make a considerable amount of money in the process. I am currently working on an "infotainment" book to entertain the masses and popularize the project as described at https://RaceToSpaceProject.com. Please also see http://L5Development.com and https://SpacePowerNow.org for more information about the underlying program and objectives.I have done a lot of Web development work (I personally have owned well over 1000 domain names (currently down to about 400), see https://PHPGenericSites.com), nearly all of which has been done using PHP/MySQL with Apache under Linux and FreeBSD, HTML, Javascript with and without jQuery, and CSS, with some server code development done in C++. I also have extensive experience in Windows software development, with concentrations in user interface and experience (look and feel, usability, etc.), multi-threading and graphics. I am also conversant in Perl and 'nix scripting languages, and have several years of experience operating and administering a FreeBSD-based server (Web, Sendmail, FTP, DNS).I am also an avid photographer, and two of my current Web sites (https://PhotoByFred.com and https://LimitedEditionPhoto.com) are geared toward capitalizing on my work. (A third site is now in early production.)I keep a current copy of my resume on the Web at http://wfredk.com/bio/resume.php that includes a more complete picture of my experience.

Listed skills include Software Development, Linux, Mysql, Perl, and 14 others.

I'm trying to save the world:We are going to run out of oil, most likely in the lifetime of people who are alive today. Before that happens, we are going to run out of cheap energy. When that happens, there's going to be starvation, civil unrest, warfare and the collapse of civilization - maybe even the end of humanity if the wars get too far out of hand.Space Power Now is a political, economic and educational action organization established to raise public awareness of the critical nature of the energy crisis looming in the near future, and how solar power delivered from satellites in Earth orbit is the only reasonable long-term solution. Through these efforts we aim to protect the future of our civilization, and of humanity itself. In addition to soliciting investments through the site, I have a GoFundMe campaign where I'm hoping to raise enough money to spend six months writing a book that will provide sufficiently detailed plans for the project to move forward at a sufficiently fast pace.

My ambition is to build a privately funded space program, move off planet, and make a lot of money in doing so. The problem with that plan is it's going to take billions of dollars, if not trillions, to bring it to fruition. Since I'm starting with nothing but my time and abilities, geting to where I can think about my longer term goals requires finding business opportunities with a shorter time to profitability. FKE has been the underlying business entity in those efforts throughout my adult working life.I am a devout Capitalist (spelled with a capital 'C', please) in that I believe that voluntary trade for mutal profit is the only proper form of human interchange. Although I'm actively looking for investments to help underwite the cost of development for some of my projects, I am NOT looking for handouts or subsidies: I expect to pay any investors back handsomely from the profits.Since I haven't had any investors step forward soon enough for me to finish my projects, I have repeatedly found it necessary to take contract jobs to regain my financial stability. Every time I did so, however, I still kept working on my own projects, in the background and in my spare time. When the job was done, I went back to investing my time into FKE, rushing to finish the latest effort before my funds ran out. This pattern is going to continue until one of two things happens - either I'm successful, and can start building the future I want to provide for the world, or I get planted in the ground: I am not looking for a "career" in someone else's dream, I have enough dreams of my own to follow.
