In England and Wales my practice focuses on extradition law and the representation of persons subject to requests under the Extradition Act 2003.

I have lived in Newington on and off since 1989 and I was first elected as a City Councillor in 1999. I represented Newington Ward on the City of Edinburgh Council for eight years. I was re-elected in 2003 and stood down in 2007 to run for Parliament.In my eight years on the Council I was convenor of the South Edinburgh Local Development Committee; which focused on community planning, community safety and environmental issues in the southern part of the City.
