The International Financial Accountant supports Heads of Finance in Country Programmes to develop and maintain good financial control environments and to manage key financial risks appropriately. As the International Financial Accountant I contributed technical expertise and advised the Heads of Finance on financial accounting processes; accuracy and timeliness of information and financial control matters etc. I led in the building of efficient and effective finance functions in Country Programmes.As an IFA I was responsible for the Assurance function, accountable for providing evidence that the financial control environment is robust in the country programmes under my jurisdiction.My role works across the finance function and with other stakeholders to reviewed, developed, enhanced and embed effective financial processes throughout our international programme portfolio. Understand local context, and thus help the UK office to understand where local deviation from the WaterAid standard is appropriate and desirable.
