I was hired to start up the business activities of the Danske Commodities (DC) Renewables in Sweden. The initial trading activities of the DC were changed to direct interactions with electricity producers and companies in the energy sector in order to provide more comprehensive support involving electricity production, and asset and risk management. My work also includes facilitating projects with investors and project management of large wind power initiatives.

I was directly involved in the company startup and growth. Initially there were three employees and at the time I left there were 12 employees and had a yearly budget of 1000 million SEK. I was directly in charge of many of the key customers in the Scandinavian region. The work included all aspects of electricity production and consumption, including portfolio management.

At the start of my employment Stora Kraft AB was the 4th largest energy producer in Sweden, but it did not have any electricity related sales organization. I was hired to start up and manage that activity. In 2001, this part of the business was sold to Fortum. At that point I was part of a task force focusing on the largest Pan European customers. My activities included management of custom portfolio contracts.

My employment coincided with the deregulation of the energy market in Sweden. Initially I worked on electrical power sales to new customers, but that activity soon changed to sales of district heating and cooling solutions. I was part of a project group working on establishing district cooling solutions for the inner city of Stockholm.
