London & Partners is the international trade, investment and promotional agency for the Greater London Area (GLA). I was privileged to lead a team of 15 business development professionals in 5 offices across North America during a most challenging time: the peak of the early COVID pandemic. For me, this was a dream job working for my favorite city on the planet - London - in a role in which I had hoped to assist growing companies in their Trans-Atlantic expansions for the next several years. But COVID ground nearly all activity to a halt with highly uncertain prospects for when robust business activity, tourism, conferences/events, and study abroad might likely resume again. Plus my other personal business interests were all in economic peril as well, needing full-time attention. A great job at the absolute worst time possible.

Portalarium is the current scaling company of Hall-of-Fame Game Designer, Richard "Lord British" Garriott, dedicated to creating immersive online worlds. Early products launched while working in the mobile-social space included Ultimate Collector, a unique game of shopping, collecting and world-building for play on PC-browser and Facebook via the Zynga Platform, and Port Casino Poker. In 2018 the Company launched Lord British's "Ultimate RPG" game for PC, Shroud of the Avatar, the 2nd largest crowdfunded game of all time. Initial efforts were venture funded by M8 Capital and Founders Fund, among others. I'm also an investor and served as the founding CEO for 3-1/2 years.

Best-selling titles included the Ultima Series of fantasy role-playing games from Hall-of-Fame game designer, Richard "Lord British" Garriott, and the Wing Commander Series of space combat games from Chris Roberts. ORIGIN started the video games industry cluster in Austin, TX and our team has remained active in its growth and development there ever since. Also led the company's marketing and branding efforts in Europe. Stayed with EA for two years following the merger then left to pursue new entrepreneurial ventures both inside and outside of the games industry.

Led marketing efforts for the legendary MicroProse brand of computer games focusing on military combat simulations (F-15 Strike Eagle, F-117A Stealth Fighter, Gunship, Silent Service, Airborne Ranger, many others) and strategy games from Hall-of-Fame game designer Sid Meier (Civilization, Pirates, Railroad Tycoon and Red Storm Rising based on the Tom Clancy book). Joined at 20 staff and $3M in revenue and exited just pre-IPO at 160 staff in six offices worldwide. Set up EU operations based in the UK's Cotswolds region.
