Agronomist, GIS M.Sc., Ph.D. candidate at Massey University New Zealand. I am passionate about science in the agriculture and the environmental sector. I have research experience working in those sectors in Colombia (my home country), Central America, and recently New Zealand. My research experience has been developed primarily at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), currently Alliance Bioversity International- CIAT. At CIAT, I began as an undergraduate student in the bean-breeding program, a research assistant; then, I was a research visitor and research associate in the multifunctional landscapes program based first in Colombia and then in Honduras (Central America). I managed several research initiatives related to agriculture development, water management, and climate change. Finally, I have combined my research activities with temporal teaching experiences at the National University in Colombia, The National Service for Learning in Colombia (SENA), and the Zamorano Pan-American Agricultural School in Honduras.
