CurrentI lead all marketing and communications at SRI, one of the world's leading independent R&D organizations. With a team of storytellers, designers, and internal and external communications, marketing, and digital media pros, we’re sharing the story of a nonprofit institute that's had a profound impact on every one of our lives. In 2023-24, we launched and completed the first successful brand refresh in our 75+ year history; the communications around the acquisition of the famed Palo Alto Research Center (PARC); and the relaunch of PARC Forum, an event series first founded in 1977. We revamped our website and storytelling strategy, developed new internal communications channels, launched a slew of new videos and marketing collateral, and developed relationships with high-profile media. Founded in 1946 as part of Stanford, and independent since 1970, we acquired Sarnoff Corp. (formerly RCA Labs) in 1987 and PARC in 2023. My team's responsibilities included executive and internal & employee communications; media relations and issues management; digital strategy; storytelling & content; brand marketing & management; and events. I also oversaw alumni relations, donor relations, development communications, and stewardship. Built and led a team that won numerous awards and accolades. Together, we created and launched a digital magazine about technology; the SiriusXM Radio show and podcast, the Future of Everything (now in the top 1.5% of all podcasts and a Webby honoree); industry-leading social media profiles; proactive media campaigns; storytelling initiatives; and several dozen websites.We also launched innovative internal communications and employee engagement programs and a broader community-building strategy that included ongoing communications and multiple thought leadership and other events and programs, on campus and beyond, that engaged and built advocacy among more than 65,000 alumni, 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students, 500 employees, and community members.
