Going into college, I knew I wanted to become a jack of all trades. To this end I studied computer science to hone my technical problem solving capabilities while I nurtured my artistic side with a creative writing minor. Several years with the KU IT Customer Service Center taught me how to synthesize my creative and technical thinking to make others' lives easier, while giving me the communication skills needed to maximize my reach. I further developed my programming skills through my research for the KU Department of Physics and Astronomy. Tasked with extending a Python interface to a catalog of data from the Gemini and Hubble telescopes, I took the opportunity to refactor, polish, and rigorously document the code to ensure future collaborators will be able to utilize the finished product to its fullest degree.I'm always on the lookout for the next opportunity to put what I've learned of good coding practices, quality customer service, and consistent problem solving strategies to good use. All the better if I can find a new skill to add to my repertoire along the way.
