Tim’s practice included acting on behalf of clients charged with the full spectrum of criminal offences, including homicide, major drug matters, fraud, theft, violence offences, sexual offences, driving offences, and the preparation of applications for Bail. Tim also had significant experience representing clients who were the subject of investigations & prosecutions by regulatory bodies and agencies such as WorkSafe, ASIC, the EPA, the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC), and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC).Tim provided advice and representation to clients in quasi-criminal areas, such as Coronial Inquests, professional disciplinary proceedings and asset confiscation proceedings under both State and Federal legislative schemes.Tim also provided advice and legal representation to clients in civil and commercial litigation, including proceedings tortious claims (eg. assault, battery, defamation, and other negligence claims), claims in contract, and insolvency proceedings (including bankruptcy, creditors statutory demands, and winding up).

Elected by the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) membership as a non-executive Director, sitting on the Board of Directors (known as the LIV Council), for a 3-year term commencing 1 January 2019.Directors are required to comply with the provisions of the LIV Constitution, Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission Regulation 2013 (Cth) and any other relevant Australian laws. The Council manages the business of the LIV. The functions and responsibilities of the Council include to:- ensure that the LIV has appropriate corporate governance structures in place to maintain compliance with statutory requirements and promotes a culture of corporate and social responsibility;- provide effective oversight and collaborate with the leadership team in developing, articulating and maintaining the organisation's vision, objectives, strategic plan and policies of the LIV;- monitor LIV performance and endorse corporate activities as proposed by the Executive and Leadership teams;- advocate on behalf of the legal profession and the community on legislative changes and reforms.The LIV's Consititution and Council Charter formalise the Board's role, responsibilities, powers and duties (both individually and collectively) in setting the direction, the management and the control of the organisation.

Appointed by the Victorian Governor in Council pursuant to s.155(2)(a) of the Firearms Act 1996 as a Legal Member of the Firearms Appeals Committee.The Firearms Appeals Committee is a statutory appeals tribunal, independent of government, established under Part 9 of the Firearms Act 1996.The function of the committee is to review decisions of the Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police to: - cancel firearm licences;- refuse firearm licence applications; or- impose certain conditions on firearm licences. The committee consists of 13 members, who are appointed by the Governor in Council. The members of the committee are made up of legal representatives, firearm industry representatives and representatives nominated by the Minister for Police. Committee members are appointed for three year terms. The Department of Justice & Regulation acts as Secretariat to the committee.
