Responsible for creating and modifying robot components, sensor mounts, and machine components based off technical drawings, prints, CAD models, and verbal instructions using a manual mill and surface grinder. Typical daily activities include; print-reading, selecting and cutting proper material to size for shaping parts, determining proper setups and stock removal processes (milling/drilling/tapping), modifying time sensitive assembly components for machine building department, determining work order to meet scheduled due dates, preparing parts for various heat treatment and/or surface plating processes, support CNC mill/lathe and wire EDM programmers by preparing stock and/or completing final machining processes for component completion, making fixtures for EDM wire cutter, operating a grinder to achieve tolerances and surface finishes, making/modifying/re grinding sub plates for 3D printing metal parts, machining 3D printed metal and plastic components, machining weldment parts, making/completing /modifying fabricated and welded components, and operating an EDM drill. Other Job duties; minor disassembling/ re-assembling of machine components for machining operations, operating CNC machining centers during production runs, assisting fabrication shop (brake press, metal shear, TIG welding, band saw, grinding weldments), shop maintenance, and general sanitary duties.
