I have completed 2 internship rotations with EDL Energy.1. Fuels InternIn the Fuels operations team I had the opportunity to kickstart developing EDL’s in-house capabilities with pipe flow modelling for landfill gas sites. On top of building models I was also comparing software such as KYPipe and PipeFlowExpert. I developed a training program for other employees to get started in modelling.2. Innovation and TechnologyWith innovation and technology I have been investigating the viability of new technology for EDL’s remote energy sites and sourcing potential suppliers for new technologies.

Awarded a New Colombo Plan Scholarship to attend University and industry tours in Malaysia

In my second year with Glencore Mount Isa Mines I pursued a role in my primary major of mechanical engineering. In this role I worked with the projects teams regarding the fixed assets of the copper mine. During this role I worked on designs with Solidworks and SCENE 3D scanning, allowing me to gain further technical design experience on everything from platforms to crushers to conveyors. I also assisted in preparing scopes of work and communicating with contractors for project work.

For my first year of vacation work I worked as a mining engineer with Glencore Mount Isa Mines. During this summer break between university I worked on several major projects, including mine dewatering, variance in the mining cycle and relocation. I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the mining process at such an established mine and getting my first taste of engineering work.
