I define myself as a dynamic and well-networked museum professional with 20+ years of experience in a variety of roles, including over a decade as a Museum Manager/Director. I've spent the majority of my career working in small to mid-size, publicly-owned, and multi-discipline museums (history and art). Highly adaptable to change, I consider myself a "builder/renovator" experienced in everything from family programming to capital projects - including vision, build, and function of a custom museum facility opened in Moses Lake in 2011. I've dedicated time and effort to understanding a broad swath of industry standards and best practices and excel at putting them to work and under a critical lens through hands-on application. I currently serve on the advisory panel for Washington State Historical Society's Heritage Capital Project grant program, evaluating proposed heritage interpretation and museum operations. I also remain active in museum advocacy and activities of the Washington Museum Association, where I served two terms on the board, including two years as President.My recent long-term professional experience focused largely on exhibition design, historical research, writing, and historic property management. I was most drawn to the symbiosis between historic preservation and interpretation, and the institutional histories of museums themselves. In 2023, I wrote a forthcoming publication with two other contributors about Spokane's 1898 Campbell House detailing it's 125-year history of use and change. The experience inspired me to independently pursue a growing passion for investigating the development of museums within Washington State. I'm currently working on a Continuity of Operations Plan and a 75th anniversary program for Yakima's Larson Gallery. Current loves:- museum institutional histories- volunteer panel and board service - growing my development/fundraising skills- delving into the mysteries of Quickbooks
