During the Covid 19 pandemic, I worked on the regional test site as a test operative. It was an eye-opening experience, working with individuals from all walks of life and helping members of the public in some of their most stressful moments. I gained a variety of new skills, including crisis management and being able to communicate with those who don't want to or can't communicate themselves. I also got to travel, as my job role changed and I was moved to the mobile testing units, across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. It is a job that I never thought I'd do but the experience it gave me was invaluable and the confidence I have taken away from it is something I'm really proud of.
