ACT is an NHS charitable trust for one of the UK’s largest and most prestigious hospitals: Cambridge University Hospital (CUH, a.k.a Addenbrooke’s Hospital):- I lead the project management of the transition from the legacy Customer Relationship Management (CRF) software to a new, innovative, user-centred CRM (Donorfy).- I applied techniques from Design Thinking, such as deep empathy and co-design workshops, to ensure all the diverse teams and their members had their needs met and, indeed, often exceeded. - The fortnight ACT began working from home happened to coincide with the fortnight the new CRM was scheduled to go live- instead of delaying it, I chose to drive ahead. We not only launched the new CRM, but I simultaneously helped train all staff how to use MS Teams to work remotely and also prepared the data (across BOTH databases due to timing) for an emergency appeal for the hospital’s Covid-19 response.

I began working at Vinnies in a part-time, junior role, while I was finishing my studies at UTS, as the Donor Care Officer, answering phones and correspondence from donors:- In that role, I voluntarily started doing data analysis on our Regular Giving program, finding a more accurate life-time-value (LTV) for the program, as well as other process improvement projects.- My work above-and-beyond my job description as Donor Care Officer lead to a promotion to Business Analyst & Data Manager. In the new role I produced regular fundraising analysis reports, and managed data for the fundraising appeals.- I lead the teams through various process improvement projects, such as streamlining the Direct Mail schedule to improve our ability to keep to our strict timelines.- I embarked on a project to improve our Return-to-Sender letter-processing system, bringing in other team members to get them equally enthusiastic by communicating the clear ways we could not only improve donor retention but also cut mail costs by removing former addresses from the mailing list.

I did a three-month reception cover contract the Indigenous Literacy Foundation:- Despite only working there for three months, I got experience with all the teams, including the Marketing Team, with whom I worked on a review of the website to identify issues and help make it more user-centred.- Working at ILF, I loved learning about their programs which included pairing professional authors with indigenous school children, and helping them write their own storybook.

Over the course of more than a year, I worked several temporary contract roles, such as reception cover, and team assistants:- On the events team, I did the main logistical organisation for the Head Office Strategy Roadshow, which was an event with a few hundred people in attendance.- I also joined the Strategy Team to consult on their Design Thinking training documents.

I loved learning about ActionAid’s community/women led projects and seeing how actively seeking out voices which typically go unheard led to great ideas, such as creating dedicated ‘blue tents’ for women to be safe and also discuss recovery ideas after an earthquake.As the Executive Assistant I gained some great experience:- I was the Project Manager for the Annual Review. Working closely with the graphic designer to find out what worked and what were typical sticking points. So I created a schedule and plan to avoid those sticking points and get the Annual Review successfully produced with plenty of time, and received very positive feedback on the quality of the report from the Board. - I helped organise the logistics for a large conference/workshop for a few hundred people - it was a meeting for many of Australia’s most progressive thought-leaders, and I really enjoyed being able to get involved in the workshop.
