Assistant Research Analysts: conduct experiment using various inlet and baffle configurations in a scale model of a typical stormwater pond, control experimental environment, data collection and analysis, reporting of findings. The installation of sedimentation ponds is a well-accepted and proven practice in removingsuspended sediments from natural waterways and reservoirs, however performance implication of incorporating baffles in such ponds are less understood. Number of porous baffle mesh sizes, positioning and configurations were studied by comparing recorded flow velocity of each setup at various pond locations. Experimental results indicated greater sediment retention capabilities when a small mesh size baffle is adopted close to the inlet and spacing between neighbouring baffles are reduced.
