I've started my career as an intern at the Flemish Arts Centre 'De Brakke Grond’ located in Amsterdam. This internship, with a clear focus on production and organising, became quite the eye opener. My passion for producing my own projects grew stronger every day. Working in an arts centre, in a vibrant city like Amsterdam, made me realise that working in the arts and culture sector was my ‘calling’. ‘De Brakke Grond’ turned out to be a great reference when applying for a job at VZW Festival Dranouter. Festival Dranouter gave me a chance to develop my (pre) production skills and trusted me with a team to organise the Artist Reception Desk for the three festivals the VZW produces every year. Besides organising these three festivals the VZW was also an expert partner for the province of West Flanders. We worked together on ‘GoneWest’; the artistic commemoration program of WWI, during 5,5 years. GoneWest made us push our professional bounderies for every new project. Our GoneWest-team was responsable for the artistic content - linked to WWI, the budgets and the production/realisation of dozens of commemmoration projects. It really became a once in a lifetime experience, with breathtaking projects such as 'The Light Front', 'Peace To The World' & concerts of Einstürzende Neubauten, John Cale, GY!BE, Gurrumul, etc. Working for VZW Festival Dranouter made me an engaged, skilled, dedicated production manager with an eye for detail and a warm heart for the people I meet and (will) work with.
