As director of operations, I am responsible for the day-to-day management of the research institute (350 fte, 30 M€), including finance, human resources, quality management, project management, research data management, internal and external events, communication (both internal and external) and initiating contacts with new stakeholders. In addition, as a member of the IMM Board, I co-decide on research policy and strategy, appointments, major infrastructure and/or research projects. I am also responsible for setting up a new graduate school.

Director Program Office hDMT. The hDMT virtual institute focuses on stimulating public-private partnerships for the benefit of organ-on-chip applications for disease modeling and drug development.- Acquisition of program office and new partners.- Coordinate establishment of legal frameworks through coordination with all partners. - Identify funding sources.- Ultimately responsible for the work of the program office: including legal work, financial administration, management support, management of programs, organizing network and partner meetings.

Senior program manager for NanoNextNL: the largest public-private partnership within the Netherlands (250m€). - Develop and coordinate the educational curriculum. - Setting up valorisation chain and coordinating valorisation activities. - Management of the innovation networks Food (28m€) and Bio-Nano (16m€): legal and financial management, stimulating cooperation, PR, pursuing new business opportunities; organizing events.

STW realizes knowledge transfer between knowledge institutions and users. Special projects as senior program officer, STW - Designing and setting up the first top sector call (HTSM), which now serves as a blueprint for all top sector calls. The challenge lay in bringing together and connecting the widely divergent interests and ideas of the various funders. - Chairman of the internal working group on business operations: with an eye for all the various stakeholders, gave concrete recommendations for more efficient and effective business operations. This has led in part to changes in processes and procedures and ISO certification. - Initiating collaboration with health funds (KWF Kankerbestrijding, Diabetes Fonds, Heart Foundation). - Coordinator of talent grants (11 m€/year). Tasks: e.g. managing executive staff, advising MT and board, secretary selection committees, monitoring customer satisfaction. - Quality manager. With my feeling for quality and the general interest, coaching style and clear communication, the quality management system has acquired a clear place within the daily practice.
