I am Freyr Antonsson, an Icelandic entrepreneur and public figure renowned for my impactful contributions to the whale watching industry and my dynamic involvement in local politics. In 2009, I co-founded With my wife Arctic Sea Tours, based in Dalvik, North Iceland, where we offer diverse whale watching experiences. Under my guidance, our company prioritizes responsible and sustainable interactions with marine life, striving to provide memorable experiences for visitors while safeguarding the environment.I graduated in 2008 with a BS in Business Administration, specializing in marketing, which prepared me to adeptly manage and promote our whale watching tours. I am particularly hands-on in the field, directly participating in tours and marine animal rescues. A significant moment in my career was leading a team to rescue a humpback whale ensnared in a fishing net, underscoring my commitment to marine conservation.Additionally, I play a significant role in local politics as the president of the municipal council in Dalvíkurbyggð. In this capacity, I oversee the municipality's administrative functions, manage local services, and engage in community planning and development, reflecting my deep commitment to community service and leadership in both business and public sectors.My life and work are driven by my passion for the ocean, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication to my community, making me a respected figure across both the business and political landscapes of Iceland.
