This PhD is a collaboration between the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS): www.diis.dk and Department of Anthropology, Copenhagen University.The aim of the PhD project is to contribute to understandings of how urban violence affects citizenship in megacities where insecurity is high and de facto access to citizenship is unequal. This PhD project combines three debates within social science that draw on sociology, anthropology and International Relations.I will be conducting fieldwork in São Paulo between August 2015-January 2016 and August 2016-December 2016.

I was part of the administration and assistance of Phase II of the Danish Environmental Sector Programme Support (ESPS) in Mozambique. With ESPS II I passed all stages of a project cycle and acquired a strong knowledge of project cycle management.I was responsible for writing terms of reference, administrative- financial- and logistic tasks in relation to the program. I conducted field surveys, financial reporting and payments, report writing and communication between partners. This was mainly done in Portuguese. I gained strong administrative skills in project coordination and tender processes with Danida’s partners in Mozambique including USAID, Sida, CIDA, the World Bank, UNDP, Norad, SDC and local partner such as the Ministry of coordination of environmental affairs (MICOA) and various municipalities and local NGOs.

I worked with administration and assistance in the formulation of Phase II of the Danish Environmental Sector Programme Support (ESPS) in Mozambique. I conducted several field trips meeting government officials and local NGOs in different parts of Mozambique and collected data used in the assessment and monitoring of ESPS. I was responsible for coordinating the Mozambique Environmental Working Group with the Danish Embassy as chairman with donors including local NGOs, Mozambican ministerial institutions, UN and other development agencies such as SIDA, NORAD and SDC.
