I have a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry with focus on characterization of solid waste. I worked at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (former SP Technical Research Institute) 2007-2020, specializing in solid waste and energy from waste combustion. I defended my Ph.D. thesis named “Characterization of waste for combustion - with special reference to the role of zinc” at Åbo Akademi University in Finland, and the thesis include five peer-reviewed articles published in the acknowledged scientific journals: FUEL, Energy & Fuels, Waste Management, and Waste Management & Research.During 2011/2012 I was granted a scholarship from the Hans Werthén-foundation to conduct my research based at University of Toronto, Canada. After finishing my PhD in 2013 I worked as a Researcher/Project Manager in the field of combustion and waste management. I have been the responsible project manager for some of the largest characterization campaigns for waste combustion plants in northern Europe and have been involved in projects looking into waste management in the future and its challenges. Furthermore, I worked a lot in the field of combustion, deposits, corrosion, and particle measurements, both in lab-, and full-scale. I have experience of FP7-projects and have been the co-coordinator of the EU-projects Wastecosmart - Optimisation of Integrated Solid Waste Management Strategies for the Maximisation of Resource Efficiency and R4R - Chemical Regions for Resource Efficiency. In addition, I have worked as an expert for the European Commission, evaluating H2020-proposals. During 2017-2018 I was a Vinnova Vinnmer Fellow in Toronto, Canada, which also allowed me to acquire a Certificate of Leadership Essentials and a Project Management Certificate from the School of Continuing Studies at University of Toronto, completed in the spring of 2018 and 2019, respectively.

In co-operation between SP and Åbo Akademi (in Finland) I did a phd in waste combustion, focusing on fuel characterisation.
