With a PhD in Aerospace Engineering earned in 1995, I ventured into the dynamic world of entrepreneurship, founding in Los Angeles an Internet startup that three successive M&A transactions transformed into the largest global Data Center company by 2001. In the ensuing years until 2003, I embraced diverse senior and executive roles in Corporate Development.Subsequently, my career trajectory brought me on Wall Street where it seamlessly shifted into private equity investment from 2003 onward, spanning a multitude of sectors, including Oil & Gas Exploration and Production, Insurance and Reinsurance, Data Centers, IT Outsourcing, Software Development, Film Financing, and Film Libraries, among others. I originated and led investments all over the world and sat on dozens of corporate Boards, often chairing Compensation and Audit Committees. I was a member of a firm's Investment Commitee (almost $5b of AUM).In the wake of the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, I took the lead in directing Soros' investments into Ukraine over a substantial four-year period.Beyond the confines of the corporate sphere, my professional journey extends into academia. From 2012 to 2018, I served as a visiting lecturer at a business school and a Startup Academy. For nine years I was also a Trustee at a private school in NYC, contributing significantly to the enriching landscape of education.My commitment to philanthropy endures as I actively engage in various charitable causes, particularly those championing arts and development of freedom and democracy. I have given multiple interviews, was a featured speaker and authored a well received novel under a penname.Since 2014, I've also embraced the role of a Hudson Valley Farmer actively raising cattle and making my own Cassis Alexis. I am a lucky husband of the photographer and founder of acclaimed photography programm Jenia Fridlyand, and a father of two young adults.
