-Investigated the infection response in Drosophila melanogaster fruit flies through larval infection in order to explore the role of the microbiome in immune response and the impact on fecundity, survival and development-Contributed in the study, in collaboration with UConn Health, of progeny development of different lines of Drosophila melanogaster by setting up genetic crosses and assessing bacterial contents of the gut microbiome using serial dilution methods

Mellor International Water Resource Lab

-Developed a life-cycle cost analysis (LCCA) model to evaluate the economic efficiency of certain water technologies in developing countries-Coordinated with an engineering team of students in the development of a new technology in partnership with a Botswana group to ensure social and environmental impact as well as safe public health practices with water-Completed an extensive literature review in order to develop a standard for quantifying the impact of technology related to potential health benefits
