Beginning my career in my family's retail business, I went on to become a serial entrepreneur, founding IntraCom, a telemedicine company that I grew to a value of $80MM, raising $14MM and leading the company to the IPO stage. Later I founded Vision Works IP Corp, a technology incubator that innovates in diverse fields such as automobile safety systems, advanced learning, water purification, and more. As an accomplished inventor, I have been awarded 70 United States patents and have secured paid licensing deals with Fortune 500 companies such as GOOGLE, Apple, Ford, and others. I offer guidance to startups, government entities, and early-stage companies on business management, development, funding, innovation, and intellectual property concerns. In my personal life, I am an active public speaker, firefighter, and animal lover, and am happily married with two dogs and two horses.Having navigated the complex world of patents and innovation throughout my diverse career, I am deeply concerned about the decay and ill-conceived path of the U.S. patent system and the negative implications, such a path holds for small entities and individual inventors, who are the backbone of our nation's progress.
