I am currently a Cloud Engineer for a startup that is aiming to build a major cloud-based query platform. I have 11+ years of experience in a variety of roles, mostly focused on data analytics and cybersecurity. Between my military experience, time as a DoD contractor, and now in private enterprise, I've had the opportunity to explore the data industry from a variety of viewpoints, building a diverse set of skills and knowledge along the way. I've worked in some capacity as a data engineer, data analyst, analytic developer, machine learning engineer, backend developer, frontend developer, systems engineer, network engineer, DevOps engineer, security engineer, and systems administrator. I have experience with the entirety of the data lifecycle and have a good understanding of the methods, processes, tools, and challenges involved in each stage. I've also developed a strong foundation of experience and knowledge in the cybersecurity world, applying the methods and technology of the data industry to solve the complex problems that plague global networks. I have a background in both offensive and defensive cyber operations, supporting the DoD in its national security objectives, and my current role has allowed me to expand my knowledge of cloud network and application security. As in most industries, the application of modern data tech stands to give cybersecurity a major boost in its struggle against the black hats of the world. My goal is to continue to work to bring the two worlds together.
