About Fermin Romero Vazquez
Fermin Romero, Internationalist from UNAM, with diplomas from the TEC de Monterrey, the Matias Romero Institute and special training on International Security at the Defense Academy of Cranfield University (United Kingdom). He has been awarded two honorary doctorates (Honoris Causa) on Global Leadership and with the prizes: A Mexican of 100 (2023) by La Costena Company, National Locution Award 2021 by the National Association of Broadcasters of Mexico, World Excellence Award "César Vallejo" 2021 (3rd Edition) by the Union Hispanomundial de Escritores - UHE of Peru, in the category "Excellence in Planetary Defense", the recognition of the Universal Astrophysics Network for contributing to scientific dissemination, and the Forjadores de Mexico 2020 Award, granted by the Fundacion Cultural Forjadores de Mexico in the XIII National Edition, for his professional career and social leadership. In November 2010, he was appointed VI Pro Tempore Secretary of the Space Conference of the Americas (SCA) for 2011-2013 by the plenary of the SCA.Currently, he is a Senior Consultant in Space Law and Policy, space security, international telecommunications regulation, technology and innovation; he is a lecturer and columnist on space issues. He is President of the Fundacion Acercandote al Universo (FAU); Director and Host of Café Espacial Series, Director of the National Contact Point of the Latin American and Caribbean Space Network (RELACA-Espacio); member of the Board of Directors of the Mexican Society of Aerospace Science and Technology A.C. (SOMECYTA), member of the Advisory Council of the Latin Lunar Lobby (L3) created by the Spanish Association of Aeronautical and Space Law (AEDAE), Associate to the National Institute of Public Administration (INAP Mexico) and advisor to the global network Mil Mentes por Mexico International.He has an extensive career in the Mexican federal public administration (30 years), from where he promoted the process of creation of the Mexican Space Agency (AEM); of which he was a member of the Board of Governors from 2010 to 2013 and External Consultant from 2013 to 2018. He was marketing consultant and business intelligence systems, productivity, competitiveness and innovation, strategic planning, financial and human resources management for private sector, foreign firms, trade and industry chambers. He has prospective vision to design strategic scenarios related to international economic trends, technological changes (I + D + i) and risks at global level, qualities backed by a successful track record of achievement.
