I run trips to the Sahara and West Africa, specialising in taking people to music festivals, remote communities with whom I have a special relationship and Gorilla/primate conservation treks. All of my tours support education projects in their remotest community.Rather than trying to run tours across the world or even across the whole of Africa I am positioning myself as an expert in certain countries. At the moment I only run trips to Mali, Cameroon and Senegal.Specialties: My speciality in this field is very much an on-the-ground expertise. I got the idea of From here 2 Timbuktu by realising that Africa is a very easy continent to work in and to travel as long as you know how to deal with the people. Africa is highly misrepresented and misunderstood. It is run along very different lines to the West. Succeeding in Africa is about understanding how it works, and working within its parameters.
