I am also leading the move of Accenture IT's primary datacenter to the AWS and Azure public clouds. This move involves thousands of servers and hundreds of applications over the course of a twelve month period. Thirdly, we are focused on moving from an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environment to incorporating Platform as a Service (PaaS) capabilities from our cloud vendors. While there are many benefits to running infrastructure in the cloud, I feel that the true benefits of a cloud enabled environment can better be realized by incorporating these managed services into the environment to a large degree.Lastly, we begin to focus on looking at our internal IT organization and how we can best transform it to further our journey to become a fully digital enterprise. While Accenture does run our internal IT as a high performing enterprise, we have to change more than our technology to reach our vision. Environment Delivery is responsible for provisioning, configuring, and running much of the hosting infrastructure used internally by Accenture. Environment Delivery acts as the single point of contact for our customers for all IT related items.One of my key beliefs is that customers should not need to understand complex IT topics in detail in order to receive effective services and benefits. These include data protection, DR, security, monitoring, capacity planning, etc., for their systems. For this reason, we also focus on providing infrastructure design services to ensure customer's requirements and needs are satisfied in the best way possible, and then provide system administration services so the systems continue to operate effectively.I'm also responsible for the Accenture CIO organization's IT cloud strategy, implementation, and operations. We've implemented a number of exciting solutions within the CIO Organization for our customers. We've built internal and external Cloud capabilities that fully automate most the provisioning and management of our systems. We've build a strong automation framework that can be utilized for most IT tasks and we've seen dramatic decreases in delivery time lines of systems as well as a more accurate and documented environment.Lastly, I have driven my agenda of "Customer Self-Service" strongly into the enterprise.
