I strive for greatness, and I am a firm believer in the old Kenyan saying, “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” I’m not just showing up for a 9-5 to rinse and repeat the next day. I want to make a difference in the lives of my employees and a positive impact on the world at large.I have exceptional team-building abilities, empowering everyone around me to make their mark as well. Problem-solving, prioritizing, and process building are second nature to me. I appreciate the Socratic Method to root out inefficiencies, launch projects, and build products. I understand the importance of leading by example, and I eagerly learn new skills to empathize with employees and help improve their tasks. Being an astounding leader also means celebrating achievements and teamwork through recognition and increased trust. I’ve been popular in prior roles, because I’m pretty excellent at organizing lunches and events, or so I’ve been told.While far from traditional, my background does not lean on education as my knowledge has grown through process improvement from various career paths. As an executive, I’ve managed organizations through digital transformations, business redirection, and process/product improvements. From numerous technical, data, and management roles (some concurrently), I had submerged myself in the middle of many different business lines, then perfected knowing when to hire, when to build, when to buy/sell, and when to ask for help. The knowledge I’ve collected in just one role would be enough for most, yet I still feel a great thirst for learning and doing even more.I’ve recruited incredible teams across both small and large organizations, led project teams, created internal products, and enhanced external facing assets. I love to improve on everything and create efficiencies. Throughout the creation process, I grow and learn, and I love to see my colleagues’ innovations spark into life as well.I currently oversee the operation of real estate investment trusts, including the strategic direction and day-to-day departmental procedures, property management, finance & taxation, technology, risk management, and acquisition & enhancements.
