The Manager of Community Engagement creates opportunities to bring the library to the community through innovative approaches, coordinates efforts of those they supervise, supporting general branch outreach initiatives, while facilitating targeted community networking and staff.Examines and evaluates outreach efforts through the human centered design to ensure effective services are provided across diverse communities. Reports the results of all efforts to stakeholders and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement.Evaluates available data to determine demographic and geographic gaps in present library constituent usage. Establishes effective relationships with municipal or community partners who represent those identified under-served populations and areas, to develop, implement and evaluate customer-centered outreach solutions that result in increased library usage within targeted demographic groups or areas.Uses data to document the effectiveness of KDL's efforts to provide recognized, highly-valued services and materials to our constituents. Uses data to drive budgeting, planning and decision-making in support of library strategic goals. Recommends and manages the departmental annual budget. Identifies opportunities to enhance customer access to technology and non-traditional library offerings by leveraging services through mobile access and other emerging or innovative technologies.Oversees the efforts and deployment of volunteers and interns in an effort to accomplish strategic goals in the service area.Inspires and engages library staff to be "disruptive – savvy Librarians" by challenging the traditional paradigms of library service, using best-in-class outreach initiatives. Ensure outstanding customer services. Ensure circulation policies and procedures are followed for the proper handling of costumer and material records for an accurate library database. Run Reports and list for item hold information and inter-library loan requests. Provide directional information to the public in person, electronically or by telephone. Provide assistance to customers and staff in the use of library technology and services. Provide training and guidance to staff and serve as a team leader on group assignments. Generate new ideas to improve the workflow. Participate in the management team, helping the organization to be more effective and efficient.
