I grew up on a fruit farm in Africa. My dad had a fruit juice concentrate factory on the one farm and macadamia nuts on the other farm, so you can say I grew up around fruits and nuts.My first introduction to the Procurement and Sourcing world was in the early 90’s when I worked for the biggest jewellery company in South Africa as a diamond jewellery buyer for 6 years. From there on I went to Hong Kong and worked for a Buying Sourcing Office for 2 years where I travelled around the world and sourced various products and suppliers for our retail customers.After two years I moved back to my home country South Africa and since then have been working as Procurement Specialist in fruit juice concentrates and purees for Appletiser and SAB Miller, as well as running my own business, specialising in frozen fruit, dried fruit and nuts. My professional life has been built around Sourcing, Negotiating and Procurement.
