I am an innovative, self-motivated molecular biologist with 10+ years of experience in experimental virology, cell biology and immunology. I successfully initiated, led and participated in both internal and external, interdisciplinary collaborations resulting in a strong track record of successful team efforts. I am a curious observer and eager learner who actively facilitates an inclusive collegial environment in which strategic goals are efficiently pursued, while lateral thinking is actively promoted thus accelerating collective innovation. I am passionate about applying viruses for gene therapy and cellular reprogramming purposes and consistently look for unconventional and creative ways to solve problems and improve processes. Specifically, I am intrigued by the diversity of replication strategies among viruses, and I believe that the ability of viruses to autonomously adapt to new environments has huge potential for bioengineering strategies aiming to improve viral vector yields, qualities and transduction efficiencies.
