I am a fourth year student at Oberlin College pursuing a bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in mathematics and statistics.My passion for macro-economics and financial-economics has propelled me to pursue a PhD in financial economics, finance or economics.As a teaching assistant for four of the advanced courses at Oberlin I am able channel my passion for these subjects into helping elevate the my peer’s comprehension and interest in the subjects. These opportunities allow me to practice my communication skills and practice synthesizing complex concepts for the benefit of my students.As a research assistant for Professor John Duca and Professor Udara Peiris I have the opportunity to learn to apply theoretical concepts and advanced econometric techniques to explore issues at the frontier of economics and finance.As the Chairman of the Oberlin Finance Club I was able to combine the skills I have acquired as an RA and TA to lead a promising group of Oberlin students to hone and apply the skills they acquire in, and outside the classroom in order to grow the Club fund and pursue a fruitful career in the financial services industry.My research interests are international finance, macro-finance and sovereign debt.
